Reading to my son

Almost 40 years ago I used to read a book called Joe’s Strong Legs to John at bedtime. He asked for it so many times that we both had it memorized. Night before last he started a stay at our house while he’s radioactive from thyroid cancer treatment. I read him the first chapter of Nellie just before bedtime. He liked it. Within a few minutes he was fast asleep. I read the second chapter yesterday at lunch. And this time, though he really misses his wife and boys, is a time I’ll cherish right into my grave. Thank You, Lord.
