Surprises

On Saturday afternoon my Oklahoma cousin, who has almost the exact same name as I do, our initials are JACB, and her name is Jane, called me from Merced (about a half hour south of here). I hadn’t seen her in over 20 years. She spent the night and we shared stories of our youth and what has happened with us since then. This mighty warrior woman is traveling all over the country alone sleeping mostly in her van. When she comes to something she wants to see, she camps there. Kind of Steinbeckian. My dad used to show up unexpectedly like that, and it was shades of the old days.  I totally loved it. She went to church with us Mother’s Day, and then she was gone. I think these kinds of gifts are totally God presents. Thank You, Lord. Go with God, Janie.
