I inadvertently found out a few days ago that Cobh, Ireland is on an island. I had had Nellie and Mam and Fannie walk straight there. Good thing I checked, Irish folks would have thought I was lifting them to deity. She was good, but not that good.
I also found out that there was a whiskey distillery in Midleton where she was born, with the biggest copper still in Ireland. Needless to say, when I get over there, I’ll have to go see that. I wish my sister who’s going to have a still with me, like the sisters on The Waltons, could go with me. Seems like something should be said about it. More research, more research!
Today I begin the final leg of writing Nellie for kids.
